I really don't want to have to go off and try and find memory from another manufacturer and Corsair memory has always served me well in my PCs.įor what it's worth I am unable to test these SO-DIMMs in any other machine but my Mini runs solid as a rock with the SO-DIMMs that were factory installed. The new 17-inch MacBook Pro is up to five times faster than the 17-inch PowerBook G4, running industry standard benchmarks and offers an all new system architecture including a 667 MHz front-side bus that is four times as fast as the PowerBook G4 and 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM memory expandable to 2GB that is twice as fast as the PowerBook G4. I just don't see why Corsair's memory which works in notebooks with Intel chipsets and Core Duo CPUs would not work in a MacBook Pro or an Intel Mac Mini. It would be interesting to hear from RAM GUY whether the Intel Mac Minis and MacBook Pros are officially incompatible with Corsair's memory modules or whether he thinks these should work, and we should therefore exchange them with the reseller/RMA.ĮDIT: Apologies if my frustration shows too much in this post. I feel a bit annoyed that Corsair's memory, which is rated just as the motherboard requires, cannot perform and it sounds like this isn't a bad batch I've got, rather a shortcoming of the entire range. I too have since had random reboots and both sticks (when tested as the sole module in the system) failed a memory test (using Rember which wraps memtest). If only I'd stumbled across this thread before I bought two modules of Corsair Value Select (VS1GSDS667D2) for my Intel Mac Mini. I am not sure what I am going to do about mine. ![]() I would be surprised if this was a coincidence and we both got bad sticks. I too just put ValueSelect in my MacBook this afternoon and it has rebooted twice since.
